We have sold a few of these 650 Vulcans in the past, these are great entry-level cruisers. This 2018 Kawasaki Vulcan S Cafe abs was purchased new at Grand Prix Powersports in Santa Clara CA, in August 2019. It did not see much use here in the Pacific NW with only 750 miles on the odometer. It is just as it came off the showroom floor and is still in "like new" condition. We were told that its first break in service oil was changed at 641 miles in August 2020. Our service tens gave it a good safety inspection, added a new battery, and flushed out the old fuel. The Vulcan roared to life once again! It was then given a good clean up and it's ready to go play. Low mileage motorcycles like this tend to not sit around long at SUB, come check it out, the weather is here to ride!!

Kawasaki’s Vulcan S is a definite outlier in the cruiser world, given its blend of sporty and classic styling, along with a unique adjustability that aims to accommodate riders of different sizes. That’s enhanced by the fact that it comes in three versions too. All three—the base S, the S ABS, and the S Cafe—are powered by the same 649cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel-twin engine, and each one also offers the trick Ergo-Fit system, which allows for up to 18 adjustments just by moving the seat, footpegs, and handlebar into different positions. Choose from the base model Vulcan S, the better-equipped Vulcan S ABS, or the more stylish Vulcan S ABS Cafe, which gets three-tone paint, special badging and striping, and a dark-tinted windshield deflector.


Thanks to its retuned Ninja 650R powerplant, we found the Vulcan S motor was “super peppy” and retains much of its sporty character, with smooth operation and few vibrations. The ABS feature is available as standard on the S ABS and Cafe models and we’d recommend it. Power delivery is very linear. The usable range is from 2,000 rpm to the 9,900 rev limit. Even at upper revs, the crankshaft-driven counter-balancer maintains a degree of comfort and smoothness, as evidenced by the clear view in the bar-mount mirrors. Steady cruise at 4500 rpm in top gear registers an indicated 60 mph, and there’s plenty of passing-performance headroom without need for a downshift.
