"The Spacy is a scooter that was released in May 1982. At the time, it was the only scooter in Japan equipped with a "four-stroke engine." While Honda's 50cc four-stroke engine is typically used in the Super Cub, the Spacy's engine was also developed based on this engine. The transmission was a three-speed automatic, not a continuously variable transmission. Its style, which was considered futuristic at the time, was based on a triangular shape. The lineup included the standard "Deluxe" and the luxuriously equipped "Custom." In February 1984, it underwent a minor change and adopted a V-belt type continuously variable transmission. At this point, the Deluxe and Custom were unified, and the lineup became the "Spacy" based on the Custom. Although the official model name by Honda is "Spacy," it is written as Spacy (50) in parentheses to make it easier to distinguish from the 80cc version and other versions."
