Seller’s Descripiton

Some motorcycles are built to ride. Others are built to make a statement. “John Henry” was built to do both.
Fresh Coast Motors is proud to offer this extraordinary, one-of-a-kind custom motorcycle, handcrafted by Charlie Giordano, founder of Tailgunner Exhaust. Known simply as “John Henry,” this remarkable machine is a celebration of old-world craftsmanship, mechanical simplicity, and the pure experience of riding a motorcycle.
Built around a Honda VT1100 platform, John Henry is anything but an ordinary custom. Giordano approached the project with a philosophy rarely seen in today's world of elaborate show bikes: remove everything that doesn't contribute to the riding experience, and let the machine speak for itself.
The result is a fascinating combination of café racer, vintage industrial design, and traditional hot rod craftsmanship.
Rather than relying on modern CNC machining and computer-aided fabrication, Giordano created John Henry primarily with traditional hand tools, hammers, and an extraordinary amount of patience. Hand-hammered aluminum, beautifully aged copper, and meticulously jeweled metalwork give the motorcycle an unmistakable personality. Every detail tells a story, and every imperfection is part of its intentional character.
Among its most interesting features is a right-side Hurst jockey shifter, a period horn sourced from a 1927 Studebaker, and even a functional frame-mounted bottle of "elixir," complete with its own fuel line and petcock. These wonderfully unconventional touches reflect the builder's belief that a motorcycle should be as much about emotion and personality as transportation.
Gone are the conventional speedometer, turn signals, fenders, and unnecessary accessories. What's left is an incredibly raw and mechanical machine that captures the spirit of motorcycling in its most elemental form.
Even the name carries significance. Inspired by the American folk hero John Henry, who famously challenged a steam-powered machine, this motorcycle represents the triumph of human craftsmanship over modern manufacturing technology.
Highlights include:
One-of-one custom creation by Charlie Giordano of Tailgunner Exhaust
Honda VT1100 V-twin foundation
Extensive hand-fabricated aluminum and copper components
Distinctive hand-hammered and jeweled metalwork
Right-side Hurst jockey shifter
Authentic 1927 Studebaker horn
Unique functional frame-mounted elixir bottle
Minimalist, stripped-down vintage-inspired design
Documented builder history and philosophy
A truly individual example of American custom motorcycle craftsmanship
John Henry isn't a motorcycle that can be duplicated by ordering parts from a catalog. It's the product of one man's imagination, craftsmanship, and determination to create something genuinely different.
Whether destined for a private collection, displayed alongside other significant custom motorcycles, or enjoyed for its wonderfully mechanical character, John Henry offers an opportunity to own something that simply doesn't have an equal.
Not for everyone. And that's precisely the point.
